Participant Responsibility Notice
New Mexico 4-Wheelers guests and members will be meeting for a group activity as indicated below. Drivers are responsible for the safe operation of their own vehicles and should evaluate obstacles based on their own comfort and experience level and vehicle capability.
This is a volunteer recreational activity. Participants are responsible for their own safety, vehicle operation, and compliance with land-use rules.
In the spirit of Sadie Hawkins, this will be a Ladies-led run. This run will be good for all rigs, stock included. We'll head up through Gilman Tunnels and wander some beautiful Jemez mesas. I'm looking at the Schoolhouse Mesa, Holiday Mesa, Virgin Mesa, and Stable Mesa areas. A view of Battleship Rock might be on the agenda!
While the guys are more than welcome to join the fun, this is the Ladies turn to take the wheel. Let's go, girls!
I am letting this run go to 20 rigs, which means we will need to air down at Walatowa. Once we get through Gilman there's not enough space for a group that size. From Walatowa, it is only a few miles to the Gilman turn, and a few more miles on slow pavement before we are on dirt. We will keep speeds down for this portion.
Meet at 8:30. Driver Meeting at 8:45. Depart at 9:00.
Exact trails TBD - but this run will be good for stock rigs, trucks, and rigs with overland gear. L3 - L4 trails, generally. I will post a more specific trail plan about a month prior to the run.
It's the Jemez, so trail maintenance is always likely - chainsaws and loppers welcome - please bring appropriate safety gear including closed-toed shoes, eye- and ear-protection.
The Jemez always means mud is possible, too.
Please refer to the 4x4 101 Run Preparation List for more run prep info.
Bring water, snacks, lunch, and chairs.
Fur babies and children welcome.
We will aim to be off the trail by 4:00 p.m.
I'm excited for this run and looking forward to cheering on the Ladies as we rock the trails!
Happy Trails!
