Participant Responsibility Notice
New Mexico 4-Wheelers guests and members will be meeting for a group activity as indicated below. Drivers are responsible for the safe operation of their own vehicles and should evaluate obstacles based on their own comfort and experience level and vehicle capability.
This is a volunteer recreational activity. Participants are responsible for their own safety, vehicle operation, and compliance with land-use rules.
It’s that time again, time to put more tracks on some rarely used trails at Gordy’s!
The day will start out routinely on Hidden Valley (lvl 6) to take us over to Yee Haw, our stiffest challenge of the day. We ran this trail a few months ago. It currently has a trail rating of 6, but majority opinion was that is a conservative estimate. There are two obstacles with no bypasses that require AT LEAST 37 inch tires. The first, the easier of the two, is right past the entrance, and will require perfect tire placement and a confident driver to get up and over. Next comes a scrappy field of loose boulders leading to the crux point on the trail. We all felt this was a stout level 7 obstacle, a steep 5-6 foot notch that will nearly stand rigs up to vertical. The only two vehicles to successfully get over were on 39 and 40 inch tires. My 2 door JK on 37s and a 4 inch lift came close last time, but needed a winch, just sayin.. Once over that part, the rest of the trail is no more than level 5 to 6 as we work our way back to the Chupadero Mine road and on to Cat Scratch (lvl 6). This is quickly becoming a new favorite as we break down the overgrown areas and enjoy the new scenery. The back half offers a narrow rocky slotted wash back to take us back to Upper Arroyo de los Pinos, and on to Gates of Hell.
GoH has experienced severe erosion over the years, and carries a mixed rating from 6 to 12, the further you go! The loss of rock and gravel has made the last part of this trail nearly, if not totally impassable for all but rear steer buggies. On our last trip, we only drove part way, then walked to the end to see the last jaw-dropping obstacle. On this run, we will be doing an out and back, only up to the point where the group is comfortable. It offers excellent views and unusual white slabby boulders that will be fun to play on!
Limiting this ride to 6 rigs, due to the difficulty and newness of the trails. Pinstriping is likely, BODY DAMAGE possible.

Minimum 37 inch tires - contact me for exceptions.
3 inch lift with Full skids and sliders
2 working lockers
Working winch, front and rear recovery points
