Cliff Meier, Jack Nutter and myself Rich Steele participated in the Central New Mexico Community Collage (CNM) Automotive Technology Program's annual SkillsUSA State competition.
We helped by being proctors at the Manual transmission test station. There were 37 students testing and 31 volunteers helping out!
This year there was 16 test stations, we had station 11, manual transmission test station. Our station was a bit unusual as it was divided into two sections. Jack took the first section...gear box identification of each cog or gear and differential gear backlash measurement. Cliff had drive-train angle and in or out of phase u-joints to identify and measure. I was grading the test and getting them to the appropriate people. We caught on quickly and worked efficiently together!
After the testing was completed we were treated to some very find sounds as 4 or 5 of the hot rod cars started up and let us hear the POWER!
A good day at CNM, looking forward to next year!
